For Parents and Guardians
These are the most important links you will need to get information on how your child is doing in class.
Parents can access their child’s teachers’ Google Classroom in two ways:
As a guardian, you will receive and then accept an email invitation before you can receive email summaries.
Only teachers and administrators from your student’s school can send these invitations.
You have 120 days to accept an invitation before it expires.
You can choose the frequency of the email summaries, such as daily or weekly.
You can unsubscribe or remove yourself from Classroom at any time.
2. From any computer with internet access, click this link https://classroom.google.com and have your child log in with their GBCS email account.
Please note that any activity in Google Classroom is documented under the student’s login and it would be inappropriate for a parent to communicate with the teacher or other students in Google Classroom.
Parents should use their personal email to digitally communicate with the teacher.
Guardian email summaries include:
Missing work—Work that’s late at the time the email was sent
Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or work that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails)
Class activity—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers
This is a two page guide for parents and guardians.
As a guardian, you can get email summaries about your student’s activity in Classroom.
A teacher or school administrator can invite a guardian to receive email summaries about their student’s work in class.
Email summaries have information on upcoming assignments, missing work, and class activities.
Email summaries do not include grades. For grades, ask your student or contact the teacher.
You can get Google Classroom email summaries sent to any email address.
However, to view or update email summary settings, you need a Google Account.
You don't need a Gmail account to create a Google Account.
You can use your non-Gmail email address to create one instead.
A teacher or school administrator can invite a guardian to receive email summaries about you.
When a parent or guardian is added for you, you’ll receive an email letting you know who it is and their email address.
When your parent or guardian joins Classroom, they will receive regular emails about your work and classes.
These emails, known as guardian email summaries, include information about your upcoming assignments, missing work, and class activities, but not your grades (Renweb is used for grading).
Click the link above to see an example email your parent or guardian will receive.
About Google Classroom user accounts
